8/31/11 – This Saturday, Sept. 3 at 8/7c, the movie that I associate produced, Game Time: Tackling the Past, is premiering on NBC! The film stars Ryan McPartlin (Chuck), Beau Bridges, Catherine Hicks (Of 7th Heaven fame), and Josh Braaten. Part of P&G and Walmart’s Family Movie Night series, the story is about a pro football player who reconnects with his family in a meaningful way after years of estrangement. We shot 19 days in Wilmington, NC, and the performances we got from the actors are amazing!! The movie is real, raw, and full of heartfelt moments. Also, the football action is top notch — some of the best football captured on film, in my opinion. Really happy with how the project came together!
As the associate producer, my job was to help the writer (Brian Bird) shape a two page treatment into an outline, and then a script. I was involved in casting the movie, handled all the product integrations (there’s 6 of them, can you find them?), and was on set every day to troubleshoot any creative or logistical issues. In general, it was my job to organize the creative team (producers, director, writer) during pre-production, production and post to ensure that we stayed on vision and on schedule. It was definitely a challenging and rewarding experience!
Here’s the trailer to the movie:
